WMFC in Mexico: Oaxaca, Yucatan and Veracruz ............................................................................................................................................ Victor and Loida Pineda - Yucatan, Mexico VICTOR AND LOIDA PINEDA began their work in 1978, in Veracruz, Mexico, assisting in the work of American missionaries, Robert and Beverly Teachout. In 1983, when the Teachouts left the mission field due to Robert's terminal illness, Victor thought his ministry was over. However, God overruled. Through the Teachouts and their son, Brian, the Pinedas learned about World Missions Far Corners and the many facets of evangelism around the world, and in turn, WMFC became aware of the missionary work of the Pinedas. So a partnership was birthed! World Missions Far Corners provides the prayer, organizational and financial support that enables Victor and his family to do the on-the-field missionary work. For many years, without complaint and without sharing their own personal infirmities, needs and disappointments, they have toiled to fulfill their calling. The well respected seminary in Yucatan, Mexico and the church in Merida, "a mission in progress," are solid and doing well. Victor, Loida and their daughter, Loidita, who is talented in the area of music as well as other areas, work closely together in ministry in their church as well as in the seminary. The Vision for a National Training Center Plans for the building of a National Training Center have been "on the drawing board" in Victor's office. The plans (and the dream) are stored no more than seven feet from his desk and serve as a constant reminder of his vision for Mexico! Such a facility is desperately needed. Victor has the engineers, architects, masons, and plumbers that are capable of doing the job. Just the funds are lacking. "I want to concentrate even more,” says Victor, “with all my energies, in the greatest and most important job in the world: making disciples and teaching them how to preach strongly, in the power of the Holy Spirit and be fully convinced of their calling. With my own experience, well qualified teachers, a library of books, and 100 students, plus many waiting to enroll, this Training Center will be an outstanding institution with the Lord Jesus Christ as center. With God's blessing and provision, such a dream will be fulfilled. The Lord, surely, will give the increase and bring it to pass!" Brian and Sandy Teachout – Mexico BRIAN AND SANDY TEACHOUT minister in Mexico on behalf of World Missions Far Corners. As in any partnership, both parties should receive some benefit from the arrangement. The church and missionaries are spiritual partners through each of the individual members. The results are definitely beneficial to both. The missionaries go out knowing they are backed by the prayers and support of fellow believers. The church is blessed by its investment in eternal results overseas. And so the Teachout family, likewise, is grateful for such a mutual partnership. Together we have joined two cultures, two colors, two languages, two church backgrounds and two missions, World Missions Far Corners and the Teachouts’ mission, to go into all the world and make disciples. Our History in Mexico Brian Teachout was born in Puebla, Mexico, in 1956. Brian's parents, Bob and Beverly Teachout, came to Mexico as newlyweds in 1955. They moved to southern Veracruz in 1957 where they planted and started the Baptist work. They planted five churches in their 28-year ministry. Today, there are over 20 churches and missions as a result of their ministry. Brian Teachout felt the call to continue the work that his family had started many years earlier. To prepare for this calling, he attended Moody Bible Institute where he met his wife, Sandy. After graduating from MBI in 1979, Brian worked on the staff of World Missions Far Corners for one year and then he and Sandy were ready to begin their lives as missionaries in Mexico. They arrived in Mexico in 1982 and lived in Jaltipan, Veracruz, working in youth ministries and discipleship programs for five years. In 1987, they moved to Coatzacoalcos to start Baptist Theological Seminary of Veracruz. Brian served as the director for nine years. Then in 1995 the Teachouts moved to Puebla where they are currently living and ministering as youth pastors, giving leadership to prayer cells and serving as Sunday school teachers. Brian also taught at Puebla Christian School from 1995 to 1998.
