Life Care Ministry: Training African Pastors Since 1992
...............................................................................................................................................................

Life Care Ministry began in early 1992, after our leadership observed the absence of a deeper ministry to the pastors, evangelists, Christian workers, key decision makers, and elders (who are the cornerstones of most African churches). By the end of 1993, Life Care Ministry received its certificate of incorporation from the government of Kenya.

Life Care's first executive director, Rev. Joseph Muhota, has served as a pastor in Africa for over 40 years. Rev. Muhota registered and directed Africa Ministry Resources for seven years and the East Regional Team for three years. He is assisted by Pastor Joseph Kitur, who has been served in pastoral work since 1983.

Our Vision
We believe that the greatest need in Africa today is to teach and train pastors and lay leadership in the Word of God.

Our vision is "...to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ..." (Ephesians 4:11-16)

4 Objectives
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Life Care Ministry serves churches in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and has four key objectives:

#1. Reaching the Nations. To train church leaders in identifying, motivating and directing both present and future pastoral and lay leadership, and expanding their vision for reaching their nations and beyond.

#2. Unity and Cooperation. To facilitate interdenominational mission and church cooperation and to work in unity towards the fulfillment of Christ's Great Commission for reaching the world with the Gospel.

#3. Evangelism and Church Growth. To participate with and demonstrate to lay leaders and pastors those methods of ministry that will effectively evangelize their communities and help the churches to grow spiritually and numerically.

#4. Welfare Projects. To initiate, assist and improve welfare projects.

Church Planting and Evangelism
Since 1992, Life Care ministries have see hundreds of people come to Christ each year. Through seminars and conferences, many churches have been planted. Seminars and conferences often attract as many as 3,000 people every month.

Our Immediate and Long term Objectives
Building the Life Care Training Centre is one of our top priorities! The Training Centre will provide a place where pastors and lay leaders will come for one-week or one-month in-service training courses. It will make strategic seminars and conferences possible for a greater number of people, thereby helping us to accomplish the goals and objectives of the ministry.

The Training Centre will allow us to open to more church denominations the opportunity to follow the same goals and objectives in training their church leaders. There are limited training facilities with this purpose in Kenya so the new Training Centre will be a great asset for churches and denominations.

We have a big vision and so the scope of the Training Centre will allow us to continue to grow our programs (and not run out of space) for as many as 20 to 30 years into the future! When the time is right, we are eager to expand into other areas of ministry, including:

• Radio and TV leader training
• Evangelistic programs
• Family counseling
• Medical clinic ministry
• Christian nursery school for the community
• Retirement home for senior citizens
• Street children ministry
• Home for orphan children

The Training Centre will give us the potential to meet the needs in all these areas of our ministry. Most denominations and churches in Kenya do not have leadership programs, therefore there is a great need.

Church Planting
Another long-term goal is to plant an average of three new churches a year and shepherd them for three years. Thereafter, they will be autonomous and will be expected to plant one daughter church every year.

As God blesses, it is also our goal to expand and develop a greater desire among church leaders for evangelization in all of Central East Africa. You can help! Give today.
